GeoConcept Dispatcher is a route handling application designed to simplify everyday transport assignments, ensuring routine efficiency and featuring a highly evolved and user-friendly interface. GeoConcept Universal Geocoder, GeoConcept’s geocoding solution, processes these positioning operations on highvolume databases and on a Europe-wide scale, giving precision right down to street number level.
GeoConcept Dispatcher takes the realities of road traffic conditions into account. The logistician attributes an average speed to each type of highway, defines traffic direction, and assigns specially calculated speeds to selected roads so delays or roadworks are built into the model.
An intuitive interface allows any operator to set constraints in a matter of minutes: warehouse opening hours, permitted heavy goods vehicle driving times, statutory rest intervals, delivery schedules, vehicle capacity, and whether vehicle constraints can match customer requirements. GeoConcept Dispatcher automatically sets up route stops corresponding to delivery and collection points, ensuring optimal use of vehicles available within the limits of the imposed constraints, and minimising the total routing cost.
Over and above the automated route breakdown facility handled by the Ilog software, the ergonomics of the mapping interface itself aid and accelerate the logistician’s decision-making.
GeoConcept Dispatcher lets the logistics manager deploy their expertise to best effect, and focus on defining and streamlining routes, to:
add route stops directly onto the map
modify the order of stops
transfer stops from one route to another
visualise immediately the impact of modifications made on the overall route plan.

Once routes have been validated, individual route sheets are saved in XML format ready for printing, sending to a remote workstation, or to a palm-held device. Drivers can then benefit from instant access to detailed route descriptions, illustrated with thumb-nail map extracts for each route stop where required.
