January 2012 : GeoConcept sets up business in India
By opening a subsidiary in the world’s ninth-largest economy, the French cartographic optimization software firm is once again stepping up its international expansion.
Paris, January 26, 2012 : European leader in Geoptimization solutions GeoConcept today announced the opening of a commercial subsidiary in Chennai, India. Some ten employees will be responsible for developing public- and private-sector markets and overseeing a network of motivated partners.
India represents a strategic growth zone for the firm, which sees this market as offering significant business potential, as well as a growth engine in terms of technology adoption and development.
The new location is the outworking of several months spent analysing and understanding the expectations of the Indian market and making key contacts. This has enabled GeoConcept to build up a suitable ecosystem of partners capable of implementing its solutions.
« We are still very conscious of the work remaining to be done and the difficulties to overcome. Nevertheless, we are highly confident that our development in India will have a successful outcome,” said Didier Robert, Vice President of GeoConcept. “The quality of the team in place, the partnerships currently being established and the first contacts with the market – including resellers, integrators and end clients – have led us to expect rapid expansion of our presence in India. Furthermore, the decision to locate here was also based on requests from some of our largest clients, who were keen to expand on this market. This is also a sign that they recognise the quality and economic benefits of our solutions. »
To date, GeoConcept has five subsidiaries, in China, India, Japan, Spain and Switzerland, and many partners also contributing to its worldwide growth.
