Affimext : regional billboard advertising
Using a highly accurate central cartographic database (Navteq), their work involves positioning each of the panels directly in GeoConcept.
There is no geocoding, but interactive creation of every single panel, for which different indicators are entered directly into GeoConcept (code, lighting, orientation of the panel, visibility axes, etc.).
An image is then linked to all the panels so as to improve the legibility of the map and improve its visual appeal. Having completed this painstaking task, cartographic reports can be issued to help sales staff sell the network of panels in the different action areas.
These reports are also distributed to the various advertising space purchasing functions in order to promote the networks.
Finally, the attributed data for each panel, stored also in GeoConcept itself, are exported on a regular basis and sent to Affimétrie, who calculate the audience and feed this information into the database that has become a reference for the advertising world.
The results are already conclusive as this interlinking tool facilitates the work of the different local staff concerned, and after just six months, it is widely agreed that real time savings have been achieved.
