Combining geographic information with optimization tools makes it feasible today to seriously improve companies’ and organizations’ effectiveness. GeoConcept has given a generic title to this combination of techniques : ‘Geoptimization’, or the true optimization of activities by intelligent integration of geographic information.
In 1996 the company opened its capital to three French investors in order to support its development internationally, and now has a capital stock of €2 million. Its growing development allowed the firm to achieve revenues of €8 million in 2007.

GeoConcept timeline
1990 : Company created by Eric Lanzi, CEO and Marc Bannelier, General Manager and Technical Director. Launch of the GeoConcept kernel on Macintosh.
1992 : Development of a PC version
1994 : First French company to integrate georeferenced rasters on a PC
1996 : International opening with a first step in Switzerland and then with a faster penetration in England
1998 : First opening in Asia
2001 : Development of SmartLabel, a highly innovative technology that positions text labels dynamically on a map, enhancing map presentation and facilitating the development of Internet mapping sites
2002 : Launch of Sales&Marketing (S&M), an application solution dedicated to producing geomarketing analyses
2003 : Launch of the GeoScheduling Suite (GSS), the first software solution to combine a GIS engine with scheduling handling and an optimization engine
2005 : Launch of the GeoConcept G6nk kernel, the product of an in-depth restructuring aiming to respond to new challenges and new ways of using cartographic technologies
2006 : IGN chooses GeoConcept technology for its V2 Geoportal
2007 : GeoConcept opens its Japanese subsidiary and launches joint venture in China
2008 : Launch of GeoConcept Sales & Marketing Portal, a full web solution giving access to tools for cartographic reporting and simple geomarketing studies.
2009 : Launch of the e-learning platform , offering training interactive modules on products and business-specific, which reinforces the GeoConcept offer in training and support.
2010 : GeoConcept celebrates its 20 years old.
